It's crazy to think we are getting close to fall family photo season, but here we are! School is gearing up to start this month, pretty soon the leaves are going to start changing, and before we know it, it'll be Christmas again! Summer does not last long enough in Billings, MT in my opinion!!
I've put together a list of a few things I think are important when you are looking for a photographer.
If you love the images you see on the photographers instagram, facebook, or website - chances are you'll be super happy with your images. Don't be surprised if you are disappointed if you book someone who edits with one style expecting something different. There is a photographer out there for everyone, no two people shoot and edit the same way!! Just like there are personalities that mesh with certain people and others that don't. You want to book something that you feel connected or drawn to.
Don't be afraid to look for pricing on photographer's websites and if they don't have them published, just ask. If they're not in your budget just politely tell them that. It's not going to hurt our feelings, but it's been than ghosting us if we don't fit within your budget. There is a photographer out there for every budget. Just remember, you can't expect Target quality and a dollar store price. There are a lot of expenses photographers incur, for example: website, editing software, business software, styling services, gear, continuing education, and so much more. It's not a hobby, it's our job. We love it and put our all into it, at least I know I do!!
If you follow these guidelines, I promise you'll have a great experience with your photographer!! It's super important to feel connected with the person you choose. You want to know you'll be able to give her your most authentic self and that she will capture you in your best light.
I hope you all find this super helpful and if you ever have any questions about anything, feel free to reach out to me!!
